Steel Wheat Pennies by the Roll

Minted only in 1943 due to copper shortages during World War II, Steel Pennies are not only one of the most collectable wheat pennies they are a piece of history. I grew up with my Grandmother and Aunts telling me stories of the homefront during the War, when 4 Sons were fighting in Europe and the Pacific. One story involved metal drives where the scrap metal was picked up regularly from home to recycle. It makes me wonder what stories the steel in these coins could tell?

We have thousands upon thousands of steel pennies and are making them available in rolls of 50 for the first time on our site. You may also receive both D and S mint marks. We will run the coins, through our counter, and as always, we will not remove, check, investigate, or encumber the coins in any way. The exact order they come out of the counter will be the way they were rolled and then the rolls were crimped to ensure the contents of the roll until our customer opens.
